Toronto, get your appetites ready—because Taste of Manila is back this summer, and it’s bigger, bolder, and more delicious than ever.

The city’s love for Filipino cuisine is no secret. From flavour-packed pop-ups to new restos slinging halo-halo and lechon like it’s nobody’s business, the demand has been nonstop. And if you’ve been craving the real deal, you’re in for a treat: the Taste of Manila festival is returning this August for its 11th mouthwatering year.

Last year, this two-day street fest pulled in a staggering crowd of over 500,000 people. This time around? Organizers are going all out to top that—and it all starts (of course) with the food.

This year’s theme is all about “celebrating resiliency and diversity,” and with over 100 food vendors on deck, the lineup promises a full spectrum of Filipino flavours. Expect the classics, creative fusions, and plenty of sweet surprises.

Already confirmed? Brampton’s Fan ‘D’ Flame Restaurant is coming through with traditional comfort eats. Mely's Egg Production is bringing their famous itlog na pula—those salty, fuchsia-hued preserved eggs that add a pop of colour and flavour to any plate.

Got a sweet tooth? You’ll want to make a beeline for Claire’s Special Kakanin, where sticky rice and coconut milk desserts steal the show. Ube fans, Hazel’s Best has you covered with all things purple and delicious. And don’t skip out on Mang Rc Taho for that soft, sweet tofu dish layered with syrup and sago pearls.

While food is definitely the headliner here, Taste of Manila isn’t just about filling your belly. The festival will have three stages set up throughout the grounds, pumping out nonstop live music and dance performances to keep the energy high all weekend long.

If Filipino food holds a special place in your heart—or you’re just curious to find out what the hype is about—this is where you want to be.

Taste of Manila takes over Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue on Saturday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, August 17 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
