On Friday night, February 21st, - right in the middle of the cold winter - the Burlington Dads Team will turn compassion into ACTION by spending the night in their car from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning. This powerful act of solidarity provides awareness of the harsh realities faced by individuals and families living in poverty, while encouraging open conversations about its far-reaching impacts on our community.
Sleepless For Our Community is more than just a symbolic gesture; it is a meaningful fundraising effort. Every dollar raised supports United Way Halton & Hamilton’s critical investments in programs that tackle the root causes of poverty and provide life-changing support, including:
Transitional housing supports: Helping individuals and families navigate life changes and achieve stability.
Food security and literacy: Ensuring families have access to nutritious meals and the knowledge to make informed food choices.
Job readiness and financial literacy training: Empowering people to secure a stable income and manage their finances confidently.
Removing barriers to employment: Providing tools, resources, and opportunities to help individuals achieve financial independence.
Providing a network of support: Assisting community members who may be experiencing multiple issues related to poverty.
Please consider donating to our team fundraising page as all funds raised by our team stay local in Burlington. Our goal is to try and raise $15,000
Everyone on our team will receive a FREE BD Hat and a New Sleepless Toque
