Environment Canada has issued its first major heat warning of the season, with dangerously high temperatures gripping Southern and Eastern Ontario over the next several days.

The heat wave began Saturday in the far south—including Windsor—and is expected to intensify through Wednesday, with hot and humid air pushing further north into areas like Toronto and Eastern Ontario starting Sunday.

What to Expect:

  • Daytime highs between 31°C and 36°C

  • Humidex values could make it feel like 40°C to 50°C

A cold front may arrive late Tuesday, though its path is uncertain. If it misses the southern region, heat could continue in parts of Southwestern Ontario through Wednesday.

Safety Tips:

  • Drink water regularly—don’t wait until you’re thirsty

  • Watch for early signs of heat exhaustion

  • Stay indoors when possible, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity

Stay cool, stay safe, and check back for updates as this system moves through the region.
