Halton police have arrested six people and are searching for one more after a failed robbery at a Rogers store located at 3455 Fairview Street in Burlington.
Police say the group entered the store around 5:40 p.m. April 23 and began threatening staff – demanding they open the safe and hand over any cash inside.
Officers arrived at the scene before anything could be stolen, causing the group to speed off in a silver Honda CRV.
It was later confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Toronto.
Police pursued the robbers by car and eventually on foot once they had abandoned the stolen vehicle.
Six people were arrested – including a 16-year-old who broke into a nearby house while attempting to escape.
