Canada’s Wonderland: A Thrill-Seeker’s Playground Just North of Toronto
Even if you’ve been going since you were a kid, Wonderland still delivers.

If summer in Ontario had a soundtrack, the scream from Leviathan would 100% be in the background. Because let’s be real — nothing says "it’s finally summer" quite like a day at Canada’s Wonderland. It’s chaotic, nostalgic, full of energy, and easily one of my favourite ways to spend a sunny day just outside the city.
Whether you're a coaster junkie, a funnel cake fiend, or just tagging along to hold your friends' bags (no shame), here’s your girl-approved guide to Wonderland — and why it absolutely still slaps.
First Things First: The Rides
Let’s talk thrills. Wonderland is home to 17 roller coasters, and a bunch of them are serious heavy-hitters. If you’re brave, head straight for Yukon Striker — the world’s longest, tallest, and fastest dive coaster. That straight drop into the tunnel? Terrifying. Iconic. Do it twice.
Then hit up Leviathan — 306 feet tall and as dramatic as a summer situationship. If you still have a voice after that, go scream your way through Behemoth next door for more speed, more air-time, and way more fun.
For something nostalgic, you have to ride The Bat. It’s been around since forever and still messes with your head in the best way.
Don’t Sleep on the Waterpark
Splash Works is Wonderland’s built-in waterpark, and it’s clutch for hot days or just when you need a break from the coasters.
There’s a lazy river, wave pool, and my personal fave — Muskoka Plunge. It’s a vertical drop slide where the floor literally disappears beneath you. It’s terrifying. It’s amazing. And yes, you’ll scream.
Pro tip: Bring a towel, flip-flops, and a waterproof bag if you’re planning to double up the parks in one visit.
Fuel Up Right (and Yes, Get the Funnel Cake)
Wonderland’s food game has seriously improved over the years. If you’re starving, grab a burger or chicken fingers from Backlot Café or Marketplace International Buffet. Then save room for the real star: funnel cake.
You can’t go to Wonderland and not get a Canada’s Wonderland Funnel Cake — warm, powdered sugar-covered, topped with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. It’s practically a rite of passage.
Tickets, Fast Lanes & Smart Tips
Wonderland can get busy — especially on weekends and in July. Here’s how to make the most of it:
Buy tickets online to save time (and cash)
Grab a Fast Lane pass if you're only going once and want to hit every big coaster without waiting 90 minutes
Download the Canada’s Wonderland app for live wait times and an interactive map
Arrive early, head to the back of the park first, and work your way forward — trust me
And yes, bring sunscreen. No one looks cute sunburnt.
Why Wonderland is Still That Girl
Even if you’ve been going since you were a kid, Wonderland still delivers. It’s part nostalgia, part adrenaline, and part “I didn’t know I could scream like that.” Whether you go for the rides, the food, the vibes, or all three, it’s one of those places that just feels like summer.
It’s not just a theme park — it’s a core memory waiting to happen.
Ready to ride?
Grab your crew, your most breathable outfit, and a healthy fear of heights —
Canada’s Wonderland is waiting.
